After 25 years in the catering equipment industry, with 10 of them spent establishing 2 highly successful mail order companies, I knew there was a better way to do business. I realised quite early that I was not a ‘corporate man’, but the ladder was there to be climbed and I got on it. And it seemed the higher I got the more I disliked it. In 2006 I jumped off, and with my life partner of 20 years, started blueU. Not an easy path to take when we had two children, but we both knew how we wanted a business to work; with its customers at the heart of everything.
Our core belief is that we treat our customers how we would expect to be treated ourselves; with honesty, respect and integrity. These may seem old fashioned values, but they are mine and Rachel’s and ones we build our lives around. And we will never put growth and profits before our customers; and that’s a promise!

The big plus though, is that we enjoy being a family business; I spend most of the day negotiating the best deals and prices, whilst Rachel and her team make sure your order runs smoothly (and occasionally we pressgang the kids into helping, but that’s another story). It works for us and I know it will work for you.
